President and founder of Architects By Design, P.C. in 1991. Responsibilities include: project development, programming, land planning, design, design development, construction document review and construction management. Mr. King's projects have won various design awards within the local communities.
Prior to Architects By Design, and starting in 1984, Mr. King was employed by Eldon Dumroese and Associates and The Architects Plus. His responsibilities consisted of programming, land planning, design, design development, plan review, construction documents and construction management.
Mr. King is a licensed architect in the State of Illinois. He earned a Bachelor degree in Architecture in 1984 from Mississippi State University and conducted his thesis study at Plymouth Polytechnic School of Architecture in Devon, England.
Mr. King's involvement in the community has included: teaching adult continuing education classes at Lyons Township and a design committee member of Main Street LaGrange. He has served as the chairman of an AIA small project forum and as a professional consultant for multiple architectural review boards. Mr. King is also one of the charter members of the Willowbrook/Burr Ridge Rotary and is now the President of the LaGrange Rotary Club.
Mike joined Architects By Design, P.C. in 1992 after receiving his architecture degree from the University of Wisconsin -- Milwaukee in 1991. Responsibilities include zoning analysis, site documentation and importation, programming, design, design development, site planning, and construction documents.
Mike assisted the Village of La Grange in reworking their zoning ordinance. Tasks included doing 3D architectural rendering and zoning analysis. He presented the findings to the Village Board at a public hearing.
Mike served as a judge at the Bolingbrook Cavalcade of Homes.
Mike is currently a member of the Clarendon Hills Chamber of Commerce.
